PhysicsWallah, founded by a teacher who refused ₹40 cr job from Unacademy, turns unicorn

Edtech firm PhysicsWallah has become India's 101st unicorn after it raised $100 million in its Series A funding, taking the company’s valuation to $1.1 billion. Founded by Prayagraj-based teacher Alakh Pandey, PhysicsWallah began as a YouTube channel by him in 2016. Reportedly, after starting his channel, Pandey also refused a ₹40-crore per annum job offer from Unacademy.
