Pic of close up of ant's face wins photography competition; people call it 'horrifying'

A picture of an ant's face, magnified five times under a microscope, has won the 2022 Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition. Reacting to the picture by Lithuanian photographer Eugenijus Kavaliauskas, social media users wrote, "Horrifying," and, "Is this an alien?" Reacting to the comments, the photographer said, "There are no horrors in nature."
