Pic showing comet's tail being torn away by powerful solar wind wins photography prize

A rare photograph of a comet that will never be seen from the Earth again has won the Astronomy Photographer of the Year Competition in the 'Planets, Comets and Asteroids' category. The image, which was captured by Gerald Rhemann, shows a piece of Comet Leonard's tail breaking off and being carried away by a powerful solar wind.
