India marks 122nd birth anniversary of ex-PM Lal Bahadur Shastri on October 2, which is also Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary. Shastri once bought a ₹12,000 car using ₹7,000 from his savings and borrowing the rest from a bank. When he died, the loan was still unpaid. However, his wife refused government's offer to clear it and repaid it herself.
