Pic shows infrared aurora spotted on Uranus for 1st time

Astronomers at the University of Leicester have confirmed the presence of an infrared aurora on the cold, outer planet of Uranus for the first time. The aurora's discovery was made with the Keck II Telescope's Near-Infrared Spectrograph. While the presence of ultraviolet aurorae on the planet was first observed in 1986, infrared aurora had not been observed until now.
