The 81st session of United Nations General Assembly opened in New York on Tuesday. Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa was filmed scrolling through Instagram Reels during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's address. The Cuban delegation walked out after US President Donald Trump called Cuba an "absolutely failed state". Iranian delegates, except one, also left the chamber during Trump's speech.
