Pics show sandbanks in Amazon tributary as Brazil faces worst drought since 1950

Pictures showing the exposed riverbed of Solimoes, one of the largest tributaries of the Amazon River, which has turned into sandbanks have surfaced online. This comes as Brazil is facing its worst drought since records began in 1950. The depth of the tributary also fell to its lowest level ever on Monday, which has left villages isolated.
