PIL seeks regular DGP for Punjab, HC schedules October 1 hearing

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has scheduled October 1 to hear a Public Interest Litigation seeking appointment of a regular Director-General of Police (Head of Police Force) in Punjab, in accordance with Supreme Court directions. The PIL said Punjab has not had a regular DGP for more than four years.
