Pinterest fires 2 staffers for creating tool to track who got fired amid firm's 700 layoffs

Pinterest has fired two engineers for creating a software tool to identify which employees lost their jobs in a recent round of cuts which affected 700 employees. The tool reportedly scanned Slack and other communication platforms to alert staff when coworkers' profiles were deactivated. CEO Bill Ready said employees should consider a job elsewhere if they're working against company's direction.
