Plants pause & play their growth subject to climate stress: Study

According to a study by UBC researchers, plants can pause their growth during climate stress and continue when conditions improve. The researchers found the genes which were responsible for recovery from environmental stress during cold and floods. The study could help breed genetically engineered plants with enhanced tolerance that recover faster and more efficiently after climate events.
