Plastic-choked canal cleared by removing 750 kg plastic in TN

IAS officer Supriya Sahu wrote in a post that the plastic-choked canal in Tamil Nadu's Pichavaram village has been restored under the state's Climate Resilient Village initiative. Around 3 km of the canal was cleared by removing 750 kg of plastic and invasive plants. Authorities also strengthened embankments and planted 3,000 mangroves with help from 600 residents to rebuild ecosystem.
