Plastic ring removed from neck of seal after over 2 years in UK

A plastic white ring that was lodged in the neck of a seal, named Mrs Vicar, was removed after two-and-a-half years. The ring had made a 7-cm-deep wound in the seal's neck that had become infected. A manager at the wildlife centre in Norfolk, UK, that is looking after Mrs Vicar said they are hopeful she will recover.
