PlayStation to end physical discs for games, shut store on PS3 & PSVita

Sony has announced that it will stop producing physical discs for PlayStation games from January 2028 in a shift towards digital distribution as purchases move online. Moreover, it stated that the PlayStation Store for PS3 and PSVita will be closed globally next year. However, in some select markets, the closure for PS3 will begin this year itself.
