Plea seeking chemical castration, complete ban on adult content filed in Supreme Court

Supreme Court issued a notice to the Centre and States over a petition seeking pan-India measures to tackle crimes against women. The petition sought multiple directions including chemical castration for sexual offenders upon arrest and a complete ban on unrestricted free online adult content. The apex court said that some of the proposals were "barbaric" and wouldn't be indulged.
