PM launches scheme to give 300 units of free electricity monthly to 1 crore houses

PM Narendra Modi announced the launch of the 'PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana' scheme, which aims to provide 300 units of free electricity every month to one crore households. He said the Centre will give subsidies and concessions on bank loans to help people. "Urban Local Bodies and Panchayats shall be incentivised to promote rooftop solar systems," he added.
