PM Modi announces creation of a massive civil defence volunteer force on 80th I-Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the creation of a "massive, modern civil defence volunteer force capable of overcoming contemporary challenges" in his address to the nation on the 80th Independence Day. The PM said that these volunteers would be familiarised with modern systems. He added that they will be part of measures to protect citizens from modern-day crises.
