PM Modi congratulates DK Shivakumar as he becomes Karnataka CM

PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated Congress leader DK Shivakumar after he was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka. "The Centre will work closely with the Karnataka government for the welfare of the people," the Prime Minister said. The former Deputy CM is succeeding Siddaramaiah, who resigned mid-term owing to a reported pre-decided power-sharing agreement.
