Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson for his heroics at the T20 World Cup 2026, for which he won the Player of the Tournament award. Stating that Samson's performance peaked during the knockout stage in the tournament, PM Modi commended Sanju's focus, confidence and intensity. "This is the identification of a true player," PM Modi added.
