PM Modi receives highest Sri Lankan honour for foreign leaders

PM Narendra Modi was conferred Sri Lanka's highest award for foreign leaders, 'Mithra Vibhushana', by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. "This is an honour for 1.4 billion Indians," PM Modi said. The award's previous recipients include ex-Maldivian president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. The recipients get citation & silver medal adorned with nine types of gems.
