To encourage technical institutions to conduct their own research, PM Narendra Modi on Thursday launched 'Imprint India', a joint intiative by IIT and IISc, that will focus on affordable technology across sectors, backed by local research. With a fund of ₹1,000 crore, this initiative was worked upon after scientists and researchers complained about red tape as a hindrance for research.
