PM Modi shares video of India's first vertical lift-up bridge

PM Narendra Modi shared a video of India's first vertical lift-up bridge, the Pamban Bridge, on Instagram. The 2.07-km-long bridge connects Mandapam on the mainland to Rameswaram Island in Tamil Nadu across the Palk Strait. Its 72.5-metre navigational span can be lifted up to 17 metres, allowing larger ships to pass underneath. It stands three metres higher than old bridge.
