PM Modi told me to become minister, protect party: TN Dy CM

Addressing a gathering, Tamil Nadu Deputy CM O Panneerselvam revealed that PM Narendra Modi had asked him to become a minister. Recalling a courtesy visit to PM Modi in August 2017, Panneerselvam claimed that the PM had told him "to take charge to protect the party". OPS became the Deputy CM after merging with CM Palaniswami-led ruling AIADMK faction.
