PM Modi visits Somnath Temple in Gujarat, performs pooja

PM Narendra Modi on Monday performed pooja and ‘jalabhishek’ at Somnath Temple in Gujarat as part of Somnath Amrut Mahotsav to mark 75 years since the inauguration of reconstructed temple in 1951. PM Modi also witnessed ‘Kumbhabhishek’ ritual, during which holy water collected from prominent pilgrimage sites across India was sprinkled atop temple’s ‘shikhar’ (towering spire) using a crane.
