PM's economic adviser Neelkanth Mishra gets top role at World Bank

Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of economist Neelkanth Mishra as Executive Director at the World Bank for a three-year term. He will succeed Parameswaran Iyer, who has held the position since February 2023. Mishra is a part-time member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) and serves as Chief Economist at Axis Bank.
