Palarivattom police arrested Muhammed Shafil for allegedly sexually assaulting a transgender woman and extorting ₹1.18 lakh. Police said he met her through social media, took nude photographs after the alleged assault and threatened to share them unless she paid. Shafil was already out on bail in a POCSO case when the alleged crime occurred.
