PoK bans civil rights group JK-JAAC for 'terrorism' ahead of June 9 protest
The Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) administration banned the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JK-JAAC), a prominent civil rights alliance in the region. JK-JAAC had been protesting against the administration over inflation, electricity tariffs, and other governance issues and had called for an indefinite strike from June 9. PoK administration said JK-JAAC is "engaged in terrorism".
