Pokémon Go players unknowingly create 30-billion-image dataset to train delivery robots
Over 30 billion images captured by Pokémon Go players globally have been used by Niantic Spatial, part of the team behind the game, to develop a navigation model. Niantic will now use its Visual Positioning System (VPS) to help Coco Robotics' robots make food deliveries. VPS can pinpoint locations to within a few centimetres by analysing nearby buildings and landmarks.
