Poland has banned keeping dogs and cats on ropes or chains under an amendment to its Animal Protection Act signed by President Karol Nawrocki. The law will take effect one year after publication. It requires daily exercise for dogs kept outdoors, adequate shelter and decent living conditions, while allowing limited exceptions for transport, veterinary procedures and animal shows.
