Police chief, officer resign over killing of black motorist in US

The patrol officer, who shot dead a black motorist in US city of Brooklyn Center in Minnesota, and the city's police chief resigned on Tuesday. The resignations follow two nights of violent protests. Earlier, police chief Tim Gannon had said that officer Kim Potter meant to use a Taser, but mistakenly drew her gun, when she shot at Daunte Wright.
