Police using AI-based facial recognition to identify protesters, CJP raises doubts

Delhi Police are using live 360-degree CCTV footage and running it through AI-aided facial recognition software to match protesters' faces with their criminal database, IE reported. Two surveillance and monitoring vans have been stationed near Jantar Mantar. CJP asked whether national databases like Aadhaar records were being used for facial scans and whether this would be used to target students.
