Polls for 12 Rajya Sabha seats across UP, Uttarakhand & Bengal to be held on Oct 16

Elections to 12 Rajya Sabha seats across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal will be held on October 16, the Election Commission of India announced on Tuesday. The polls will cover 10 seats from Uttar Pradesh, one from Uttarakhand and a bypoll to one seat from West Bengal. Eight of the outgoing seats in UP were held by the BJP.
