Poor sleep quality during late pregnancy may raise obesity risk in child: Study

Mothers with poor sleep quality during late pregnancy had babies with lower weight in the first six months, but higher weight after age 1-2 years, according to research published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine. The effect was strongest in male infants and in babies born at term. The study involved 645 mother-child pairs.
