Pope Leo XIV begins South America tour with Uruguay visit after lung surgery

Pope Leo XIV said he is in 'fairly good shape' as he began a 12-day South America tour with a visit to Uruguay. The 71-year-old had a cancerous tumour and part of his right lung removed on October 13 at Rome's Gemelli hospital. Doctors say he needs no further therapy. He advised cancer patients to 'not be afraid.'
