Posts claiming adoption of common BRICS currency are fake

Several news reports and social media posts are falsely claiming that the intergovernmental group BRICS has adopted a common currency. The fact-checking agency of the government, PIB Fact Check, took to X to clarify that the claims were fake. "There is no common BRICS currency," it added. The sixteenth annual BRICS summit was recently held in Russia's Kazan.
