Pourakarmikas in Bengaluru hold protest demanding allowance

Pourakarmikas, who are responsible for keeping the city and its hospitals clean, held a protest on June 3 in Bengaluru, demanding a monthly allowance of ₹10,000 from the Karnataka government. "[It is] unfortunate that workers in Group D jobs are not treated with dignity and respect, despite their invaluable contributions," said the All India Central Council of Trade Unions.
