Power cuts for hours trigger protests across UP amid heatwave, 150 booked

Power cuts for hours have triggered protests across different parts of Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Meerut and Gonda, amid the ongoing heatwave. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, BSP supremo Mayawati and even some BJP MLAs have expressed their discontent against the state government over electricity shortages. Around 150 people were booked in Lucknow for blocking the road over power cuts.
