Power disruption in parts of Pune as MSEDCL staff go on strike

Power disruption was reported in parts of Pune on Wednesday morning after thousands of employees of three Maharashtra power companies went on a 72-hour strike. The protest is against privatisation of the power distribution sector. However, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) earlier said that it has arranged alternative staff to tackle emergency power failure.
