Power outage in entire Sri Lanka due to failure of transmission line

Sri Lanka on Friday suffered a nationwide power outage "due to the failure of a key transmission line", an official said. However, the power supply was restored later, a local report said. Notably, this comes two days after engineers at Ceylon Electricity Board began a work-to-rule protest over the government's plans to sell a 40% stake in a power plant.
