The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission hiked the power tariff in Delhi by up to 6% to restore a surcharge to compensate the private electricity distribution companies for rise in power purchase cost. North Delhi residents will see a rise of 4%, NMDC consumers a climb of 5% and the residents of BSES consumers an increase of 6% effective Monday.
