Powerful solar storm causes radio blackout on dayside of Earth

An X-class solar flare, the most powerful category of solar eruptions, fired off from the Sun's surface and sent a wave of electromagnetic radiation hurtling toward Earth. The bursts of radiation triggered strong radio blackouts on the sunlit side of Earth. The X-class fare was preceded by M-class solar flares on April 23, said Space.com.
