Dennis Austin, the co-creator of PowerPoint, has passed away at the age of 76 after his lung cancer metastasized to brain, his son Michael said. Austin developed PowerPoint along with Robert Gaskins at the software company Forethought. Microsoft acquired the company few months after the software's release in 1987. Austin led the development of PowerPoint until his retirement in 1996.
