Prakash Raj, others detained during 'EC Chalo' protest against Karnataka SIR

Actor-activist Prakash Raj and several members of civil society groups were detained during an 'Election Commission Chalo' protest in Bengaluru. They were protesting against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. "SIR has to be scrapped...What was the need to do this in just one month?" Prakash Raj said. Over 1.07 crore voters were excluded from draft electoral rolls.
