Pranksters to be fined ₹25 lakh, get 1 yr jail for April Fool's joke in Sharjah

The Sharjah Public Prosecution in UAE has warned people against sharing false information on April Fool's Day, adding that it could invite a Dh100,000 (approximately ₹25 lakh) fine or jail time of up to 1 year. "Is it really worth risking your future...for a joke?" the administration said. It explained that reposting rumours on social media can negatively impact security.
