Priest murdered by ISIS on road to sainthood: Pope

Pope Francis on Wednesday said French priest Jacques Hamel, who was killed by ISIS recently, was a martyr and added, "martyrs are beatified". Beatification is one of the first steps leading to sainthood in the Catholic Church. Sainthood is conferred on people considered so holy while alive, that they are believed to act with God to perform miracles.
