Prime Minister of Burkina Faso fired

Burkina Faso's ruling junta has fired Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachim Kyelem de Tambela and dissolved the government. The decree did not give a reason for the dismissal of Tambela, who was appointed PM soon after military leader Ibrahim Traore seized power in September 2022. Burkina Faso has been fighting Islamist insurgents including those with links to al-Qaeda and Islamic State.
