Prisoner throws chilli powder, shoots guard as he tries to escape MP jail

An undertrial prisoner, Nilesh Thakur, allegedly threw red chilli powder into jail guard Digvijay Tomar's eyes before shooting him during an escape attempt at Madhya Pradesh's Raisen District Jail, CCTV footage showed. The incident occurred during Raksha Bandhan celebrations and left Tomar critically injured. Thakur, lodged in jail on attempted murder charges, allegedly hid pistol in fruit basket.
