Priyanka wasn't welcomed by home state after Miss World win: Madhu

Actress Priyanka Chopra's mother Madhu Chopra in a recent interview revealed that Priyanka wasn't accorded a warm welcome by her "home state" Uttar Pradesh after winning the Miss World pageant in 2000. "At that time, there was a trend or a bad wind blowing that all these beauty pageants were for nari shoshan (oppression or exploitation of women)," Madhu added.
