Prof David Syiemlieh awarded Padma Shri for literature & education

Prof David R Syiemlieh from Meghalaya has been awarded the Padma Shri for his contributions to literature and education. A scholar of North East India's history and culture, Syiemlieh is a former UPSC Chairman and has held key positions at NEHU. He was honoured at the Civil Investiture Ceremony by President Droupadi Murmu on April 28.
