Proposal to rename MP's Barkatullah University to Bhojpal University stirs row

The Executive Council (EC) of Bhopal's Barkatullah University has approved a proposal to rename the institution as 'Vagdevi Bhojpal University'. The move has sparked a row with EC member Dr Tahira Abbasi stating that the current name honours freedom fighter Barkatullah Bhopali and should not be changed. The proposal would now be sent to state government for a final decision.
