Protests erupt in Syria after Xmas tree burnt by Islamist group

Hundreds of protesters gathered in Syria's Damascus on Tuesday to voice their outrage after a Christmas tree was set ablaze by Islamist group Ansar al-Tawhid near Hama. "If we're not allowed to live...[as Christians] in Syria...then we don't belong here anymore," a demonstrator told AFP. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which seized power in Syria, said it will hold attackers accountable.
